The chairman of the Hull Hackney Carriage Association has urged taxi passengers feeling unsafe to film their journeys.
Peter Nilsson's comments come following reports of an increase in complaints, with some passengers claiming they've been abandoned.
He says customers and drivers need to be respectful to each other: "There's two sides to it as far as we're concerned. We have a duty of care to customers.
"If any customer gets in any black cab and feels the driver is being unprofessional our advice is get your phone out and start videoing the journey. If a complaint is made any video evidence will back it up.
"Any driver that's doing the job unprofessionally needs dealing with."
He's also urging people with complaints to report them to Hull City Council, rather than just post them on social media.
