Humberside Fire and Rescue council tax precept to rise

Residents in East Yorkshire will pay 2.95% more.

Residents in East Yorkshire will pay 2.95% more for Humberside Fire and Rescue in the next financial year.

They've seen an £11 million reduction in funding from the Government in the last eight years.

The increase, which works out at 20p a month for Band D properties, will raise an extra £600,000.

Kevin Wilson, the Chief Finance Officer at Humberside Fire and Rescue says: "It's quite a significant amount of income for us, which we will rely on for the next financial year."
