A Hull theatre celebrates anniversary by offering free tickets.
It's 10 years since Hull Truck Theatre moved into its £15 million facility on Ferensway. In that time artistic director and chief executive Mark Babych admits there've been issues along the way:
"As the world changes around us,. me and my colleagues work hard to ensure that the programme reflects tthat. I still believe that the company and the building is an important asset to the city and in these challenging times, it is partly a building of refuge and respite."
In 2014 the theatre received a £400,000 bail-out in emergency public funding to ensure its financial stability. But following a great 2017 and record sales over Christmas, Mark says the theatre is thriving.
To celebrate a decade, they're offering people who've not been to the Ferensway theatre free tickets, and putting on 10 mini-plays by local writers.
