Hull City head coach Nigel Adkins pays tribute to Gordon Banks

The World Cup winning goalkeeper has died at the age of 81.

Hull City Head Coach Nigel Adkins says former-England goalkeeper Gordon Banks leaves a legacy.

It was confirmed yesterday that the World Cup winning keeper', had died at the age of 81.

Before City's game against Rotherham last night, a minutes applause was held to celebrate his life.

Adkins, a former professional goalkeeper before going into management, says: "He's a legend of the game, we've only won the World Cup once and he was the goalkeeper there. 

'What you see is that he was a good man, he led the way for the goalkeepers in England."
