Farmers call for clarity on Brexit plans for farmers

East Yorkshire farmers say clarity is needed urgently on what the situation will be like for the industry post Brexit.

That's the message from Angela Kirkwood who is the National Farmers' Union county vice chairman for this region and runs a farm near Hornsea.

She says: "If we are put in a position were our costs have gone up - the costs of labour, the costs of imports - and yet our farming support is taken away from us, there will be a lot of farmers that will not be able to make ends meat and so therefore that's why the clarity is needed."

There is little over seven months before the UK is due to leave the European Union.
