East Yorkshire schools to receive mental health packs

A campaign to help young people with mental health issues will involve send information packs to schools.

Mental health resource packs are being sent to schools and colleges in East Yorkshire.

It's part of a campaign to also raise £600,000 to add enhancements to a new young people's mental health unit being built in Hull.

Ann Newlove is from the Smile Foundation, which is supporting the Health Stars project.

She's hoping the students will donate items for the new centre: "Furniture that feels a bit more like your bedroom than a hospital ward, right through to extra materials that they want for art therapy, the books, games and toys in the family visiting room so it feels like the right environment to visit your child or sibling that's in this unit."
