A specialist health team is taking a campaign to housing estates in the county.
A specialist hospital team is taking their campaign to eradicate Hepatitis C in the next six years to housing estates in Hull, Goole and Bridlington.
It's estimated up to 6,000 people in East Yorkshire could have the virus - with many unaware.
Specialist nurse Martin Lewis says leaving it untreated could cause liver failure or cancer: "We've been targeting the so-called easy-to-reach ones which are basically the ones which are engaging with hospitals. We're now trying to engage with ones who either don't know they've got it or don't want to leave where they live so we're starting to go to where they are."
