Decision on waste transfer station in Hull made today

Plans for a new waste transfer station in Hull are set to be given council approval today despite dozens of objections from nearby churchgoers.

S&J Synergy want to build a recycling centre on a vacant site in Vulcan Street, near Clough Road, saying they've outgrown their previous rented base.

Members of the Hull Vineyard Church, which is based opposite the site, are concerned about the potential smells and noise which could be generated.

In its planning appraisal notes, Hull City Council said the development would not result in a material increase in noise and disturbance to neighbouring properties, given the proposed operating hours.
