Crackdown on drivers who block dropped kerbs

Fines will be issued by East Riding Council where motorists block pedestrian crossings.

Motorists in the East Riding will risk a 70-pound fine, if they block pedestrian crossings when parking. The council's launching a campaign, calling on drivers to be more considerate, and avoid leaving cars where there are dropped kerbs.

From Monday, warning notices will be given for four weeks, before fines are issued by enforcement officers.
