Over a seven year period, reductions have been seen.

A fifth of schools in East Yorkshire have seen a reduction in the numbers of teachers over a seven year period.

In Hull, there was a reduction in teachers at 44 schools, while for 21 schools in the East Riding, the figure is at its lowest level since records began.

A Department for Education statement says it's working to make sure teaching remains an attractive profession, so it can attract and retain the next generation of inspirational teachers.
