Steve is a Hull lad, who was brought up in Anlaby Common, and attended both Anlaby and Wolfreton Schools. Having decided that the 6th form wasn't for him, Steve decided what any would-be radio presenter would do at 16 years of age... and joined Royal Mail! Having worked his way up from the very bottom up to the role of a floor manager, he decided to pursue his future career at the same time, by presenting radio programmes as a volunteer on trial stations in Hull, such as Radio Cracker and Cod City FM.
It was while he was doing a programme on the latter in 1993 that he was discovered by Lincoln station Lincs FM, and within a month was given a programme on a Sunday that started at 5am! Not long after, he was offered the weekday breakfast show, and quit his 'proper' job! In 1995, Viking Radio came calling, and Steve enjoyed his most successful spell on the station as the host of the drivetime show.
At the beginning of 1999, Steve left Hull again, this time to present the breakfast show on Century Radio in Nottingham - after 3 years there, he was poached by rival station Leicester Sound - however, after a year, the chance to come back home to present the breakfast show on Magic 1161 came up and he was thrilled to be back in Hull.
And then, in 2007, the phone rang - and it was KCFM 99.8 calling. And here he is...
