Shaun comes from Swansea in South Wales and got his first job in radio at the age of 16.
Assisting the legendary Alan Freeman on his Saturday morning show – on London’s Capital Radio – the big break came shortly afterwards when he climbed aboard the world famous offshore pirate Radio Station, Radio Caroline. After two years at sea, he fulfilled his ultimate ambition by achieving national exposure on planet earth's biggest commercial station, Radio Luxembourg. During his long spell in the grand duchy he hosted the world's most to listened-to chart show, The Top 20. He was in charge of the primetime slot from 9pm to midnight.
At this time, Shaun toured the UK with the 208 Summer Roadshow – he did gigs in nightclubs and discothèques nationwide. He also appeared in many TV shows including Sky’s UK Top 40, BBC 2's 40 Minutes and TV AM’s Wac–a–day with his friend Timmy Mallett. Meanwhile his voice was also heard on the BBC World Service
In more recent years Shaun has worked on radio in all of the UK’s major cities. He was featured on a BBC Radio 2 documentary about the history of radio and was seen on the Sky TV documentary about footballer Wayne Rooney called ‘Wayne’s World’.
Shaun is delighted to have joined KCFM 99.8 – because it is the only radio station that truly plays a great variety of music and it has enabled him to hook up with many of his past radio colleagues.

What's your most embarrassing moment on air?
Closing down the world's most listened to station 'Radio Luxembourg' an hour too early one night!!
I was doing the late shift and it was my job to put the station to bed at 3am. The clocks went forward that night but none of the engineers at RTL had told me that these fancy new clocks which adjusted themselves had been put in the studio.
I must admit that the show did seem to be going quicker than usual but I thought nothing more of it and only when I got a call from our newsdesk in London, wondering why we'd gone off-air earlier than usual, did i realise (with horror) what I'd done.
Bearing in mind there were millions of people listening across the UK & Europe I really did feel awful until the next morning when my delighted boss said that there were pictures of me in every national newspaper and 'any press is good press'.....which, sadly, is not a million miles from the truth even now!!
What's your worst hairstyle?
Picture the scene....it's 1986 and I’m sporting unbelievably long hair at the back but it's really short at the sides topped off with a bushy moustache!!! I know, sounds horrible doesn't it.....and it was!!!

How do you like to spend your weekends?
Definitely spending quality time with my kids, the three of whom are growing up way too fast, so every moment counts!!

The cinema with a special 'friend' followed by an Italian restaurant
What would go in your Room 101?
People with no manners and the British (lack of...) justice system, the most inept in the world...sadly!!
Most annoying habit?
I have a very active mind which is quite often on other things so I don't always catch what people are saying to me at first...what was the question again????
