Peter Fairhead is another radio man to answer the KCFM 99.8 call, but as a respected country music all-rounder, he was the obvious choice. As a radio man, Peter was inspired in the 1960s by the pop pirates, broadcast professionally from the 1970s, and arrived in Hull as an original DJ on Viking Gold, later following the late Tex Milne and Mel Hague in the country music seat.
Peter's country credentials? He has been a specialist presenter continuously since 1980. He currently presents The Country Show on BCB 106.6FM in West Yorkshire, writes two regular features for the national Up Country magazine, and is a member of Nashville's Country Music Association.
Peter is emphatic. It is country music without the western, and if you try it, you'll enjoy it!
