Pete was born on Hessle Road, brought up (or is that dragged up?!) on Bilton Grange and attended Thanet Primary followed by Andrew Marvell Senior High School in East Hull.
Upon leaving school he had a couple of meaningless jobs for a short while and then decided to join the Royal Air Force just to win a £20 bet with his mate! After a couple of years travelling around playing soldiers and getting drunk, he decided to leave her majesty’s service. However, while he was there he was introduced to the wonderful world of radio…… On the back of this and upon leaving the forces in 1986, he worked for a couple of other radio stations, and then was drawn back to his home town because Hull City’s season had just started!
He then drifted away from radio for the next 13 years opting instead to “work” at BAE systems, during which time he got married, had 3 great kids, bought and sold houses, did the shopping, realised he was rubbish at DIY, argued with his wife about the said DIY efforts, you know the regular mundane everyday stuff; and then in 2000 he took a golden handshake from BAE systems as they wanted rid of bodies, and set up his own entertainment business.
In 2004 the news was that Hull was to have a new radio station, so he decided to give radio another go, he was initially part of a double act known as ” Millsy and Dan” on the first temporary station that aired for the licence and within two weeks of it finishing its run found himself on Viking FM presenting weekend overnights for the next year or so, as well as presenting a late night show for the fledgling KCFM on its temporary broadcast on his own.
After all that he returned to DJiing, and has done stuff for a number of stations until he got the call from KCFM 99.8 this year.

What's your most embarrassing moment on air?
I recently took my son to work with me as he was off school and made a big mistake-huge mistake, of letting him on-air, embarrassing is not the word!
You see the previous night I had an argument with my wife over something trivial which resulted in me being sent to sleep with the dog on the sofa and my son drew great amusement at seeing me cringe when he not only told everyone live on-air about me having to sleep on the sofa but also letting everyone know what we were arguing about in the first place before I could shut him up
Which is your song at karaoke?
Have you ever heard me sing??! Give me any song and I’ll destroy it, but I have been known to belt out "Don’t You Forget About Me" in a fashion, and people usually don’t - but for the wrong reasons
What's your biggest fashion mistake?
In the mid 80’s I spent a lot of time in London and these kind of silk type trench coats where the height of fashion in the capital for a while and I naively bought one and came up to Hull and wore it on a night out in the town centre, needless to say I got the proverbial ripped out of me over it – I never wore it again!
What would go in your Room 101?
Simon Cowell (he has a lot to answer for!)
What's your perfect night out?
A few glasses of expensive wine, a fine Cuban cigar (even though I don’t smoke), and a game of bridge with my chums, a nice big win on the lottery, maybe?
Most annoying habit?
I snore ever so slightly in bed according to my wife
What about your worst hairstyle?
A mullet in the early 80s
What was the first record you ever bought?
"Dancing Queen" by Abba (I was only seven...), and my first album was "Underground - Overground and Ten Great Other Wombling Hits" by the Wombles (I was 21...)
How do you like to spend your weekends?
When not being part of the Amber Nation at the KC, and not working, I am a coach for the Wolfreton Pinefleet football academy
