Matthew is a local boy, raised in Hedon and educated at South Holderness, who has travelled the country in his pursuit of a radio career, now coming full circle to join KC FM.
A qualified journalist, he started at the best possible training ground in radio, Hull's famous hospital station Kingstown Radio, then worked on amateur stations while writing for a living. He finally got his chance to turn pro with Hallam FM in Sheffield in 1996, and joined Viking FM a year later. He did the nightshift and the football programmes there - see why we hired him now? - for four hugely successful years.
In 2001, he moved to Imagine FM in Stockport where he presented the evening and then breakfast shows while also producing and anchoring their coverage of Stockport County. He left to go freelance in 2005, and in the next two years worked for Century FM in Manchester and Newcastle, Magic AM in Sheffield, TFM in Middlesbrough, Stray FM in Harrogate, Home FM in Huddersfield, Minster FM in York, and was completing six months on the nightshift at Heart FM in Birmingham when the KCFM call came. It's good to be home again!
Matthew is all over our schedule (some would say all over the place...) - he chairs the nightly sporting debate on SportsCall, hosts All Through The Night from 2am Tuesday to Friday, and takes charge of the Sunday Breakfast Show and our 70s Night! Phew!

DRUM TALK CRYPTIC CLUE
Can't knock the old sound, jumbo
It's an extra clue to identify a clip of drums which we play - guess the title and artist please!
The last DRUM TALK was Invisible Touch by Genesis, guessed correctly by Steve Beswick of east Hull, who got the Best of the Cardigans CD and KCFM goodiebag. The clue was Can't see sense, original book.
We play DRUM TALK at 02.30 and 04.30 each Tuesday to Friday.
