Dave was born and raised in Leeds, and despite living in East Yorkshire for 20 years, people still call him a Wezzy! One of Dave’s earliest memories was listening to Tony Blackburn on Radio 1 in the sixties, then playing his dad’s records and pretending to be a DJ! A sign of things to come!
After surviving Glam Rock, Punk & the new romantic scene, including playing drums in a punk rock band, Dave was asked to be the DJ at a friend’s party because he had a massive record collection. The bug bit and Dave soon became a DJ at Headingley Stadium in Leeds. Unfortunately, the day job took over and Dave became a branch manager for a national electrical chain, which brought him to East Yorkshire, where he continued DJ-ing at weddings & parties.
In 2005 Dave joined Hull’s Hospital Radio Service, Kingstown Radio, presenting the Sunday morning show, and worked on trial stations Soul City & Vixen 87 in East Yorkshire. After 3 years of cheering up patients, Dave pestered his way into KCFM as a volunteer, working on sports programmes & reading travel news. After giving up the rat race to chase his dream of working in radio full-time, Dave is now KCFM’s Rugby League anchorman, presents the overnight show on Mondays, and pops up at a moment’s notice to fill in when other presenters are away. And he’s loving every minute of it!

Introducing our Hull KR commentator and avid Rovers fan Rob Chadwick as ‘a lifelong Hull FC supporter’! I nearly gave him a heart attack!
What's your biggest fashion mistake?
A paisley shirt and cravat that my mum dressed me in when I was ten. I looked like a junior Jason King! Well, it was the 70’s! For one that I chose myself, the legendary 80’s shell suit!
What about your worst hairstyle?
I was a punk and tried to die my hair blond but it came out ginger!
What was the first record you bought?
I wanted ‘Blockbuster’ by The Sweet and bought one of those Top Of The Pops albums with the girl on the front, only to find it wasn’t sung by the real artists and sounded appalling!
What's your song at karaoke?
Mustang Sally, after a few lemonades.
How do you like to spend your weekends?
I’m always working, covering Super League games or DJ-ing, but I love to go up to the Yorkshire Dales, go walking and find a pub!

An Italian/Chinese/Indian restaurant for a meal and a bottle of wine, with someone special!

Meet friends and socialise at my local, where I also host a music quiz night, which means I can have fun, have a few drinks AND get paid for it!
Most annoying habit ?
Biting my nails, I’ve done it since I was a kid, and being obsessively tidy!
