Rich is our brand new breakfast show presenter. He's waking up East Yorkshire, weekdays from 5am. He'll also be heading out every week meeting you, taking on challenges and visiting schools. Rich, tell us about yourself...

Where did you grow up?
The lovely east coast town of Hornsea. I’ve lived in various places since (York, London, Bristol, Manchester), but always love coming home. 

What's your single worst fear?
Recently I’ve become scared of heights! In the past I’ve done sky dives - and even been up the Eiffel Tower... But, in the last few years I’ve become fearful of being on top of tall buildings!

What's the best gig you've ever been to?
My first gig was the funniest, because I didn’t see the band! I had tickets to see Manic Street Preachers at Hull City Hall, but there was a power cut and they didn’t play. They returned a few months later though, so all was not lost! The two best gigs I’ve been to recently were Flaming Lips at Zebedee’s Yard last year (they were immense - the singer even flew around the crowd on a unicorn!). I also loved seeing Adele at the Royal Albert Hall (Great voice! Amazing band!).

What's the worst thing about you?
People say I talk too much… but that’s not such a bad thing though, right?!

What's your favourite movie?
The Beatles animated film, Yellow Submarine - a psychedelic delight!

Where is your favourite place in the world?
Anywhere I can chill out and read a book.
 
What are your must listen to artists?
At the moment I’m really into Mattiel, Leon Bridges, Park Hotel - and am excited about Christine and The Queens new album! I also love Talk Talk, Super Furry Animals and adore the Easy Allstars’ dub version of Radiohead’s OK Computer.

What food would you eat for a last supper?
Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Don from the Taro restaurant.
