Tour de Yorkshire 2019 route announced

Tour de Yorkshire at Beverley

More East Riding villages to experience Tour de Yorkshire cycle race next May.

The Tour de Yorkshire cycle race is to visit new areas of the East Riding in 2019.

Villages such as Gilberdyke, Elloughton, North Ferriby and Swanland will be included on the first day, in May.

Stage three will start in Bridlington and head to Scarborough.

The full route of the four-day race has been announced by the organisers, Welcome to Yorkshire.

East Riding Council Leader Stephen Parnaby is delighted that the area's so involved: "It's really good when other areas of the East Riding get to see part of the action and indeed part of the excitement. We get that on the Thursday and, on the Saturday, it's back to Bridlington for a start."
