Research into the effects of harnessing tidal energy is being carried out in East Yorkshire.
The University of Hull is studying the wider impact on the seabed of turbines placed in tidal streams to generate electricity.
Professor Dan Parsons says the River Humber isn't actually the ideal location for gathering the green energy as the nature of the estuary is that it has relatively slow flows.
Extracting energy is a challenge and that would be pushing the boundaries of what is possinle with the turbines.
