Part of Hull's Beverley Road closed because "dangerous structure"

Part of Hull's Beverley Road is closed due to several buildings posing a risk to public safety.

The southbound lane between Ryde Street and May Street will be closed until Wednesday to allow for emergency demolition work.

The northbound lanes will be used for two-way traffic and the bus lane temporarily suspended.

A Hull City Council statement says: "An inspection carried out to the properties located at 394-396 Beverley road revealed the structures to be dangerous, posing a risk to public safety, and a decision has been made to demolish them.

"The road closure will provide a safety zone for pedestrians and motorists whilst the demolition work is prepared for and completed."
