A training provider in Hull has built a new facility to provide their engineering apprentices with real life experience.
Humberside Engineering Training Association has launched its training rig, which uses the same equipment as engineering companies.
General Manager Eric Collis says:
"We're giving sixteen, seventeen and eighteen year olds the opportunities that they couldn't get straight away on a major refinery. Whether it be steel, production of clean water, the refining of chemicals or the production of oil. We need control rooms and instrument technicians to make sure the plant is working properly and that's what this new plant is all about".
