Hull West MP calls for changes to school uniforms

The Hull West and Hessle MP Emma Hardy says the requirement to add badges and logos to school uniform is unfair to poorer families.

She says: "You don't need to have specially embroidered badges put on every different piece of uniform which bumps up the price to way out of many people's price ranges. In a way I would call this a way of actually selecting children based on their income."

This week, Independent MP Frank Field called for VAT to be scrapped for school uniform.
