East Yorkshire's unemployment figure show small signs of improvement

The first three months of 2012 have seen a positive change of direction for jobless totals.

The latest employment figures have been released, and there's a slight rise in our area.

Employment rates increased by 1.1% in Yorkshire and the Humber for the first three months of the year.

Unemployment has decreased nationally, which is being put down to an increase in part time jobs.

Stuart Griffths is the local District Manager for Job Centre Plus, he thinks the part-time route is  a great way to get full-time work.

He told KCFM "It's not the same jobs market we had years ago where people got a full-time position that lasted for a lifetime.  People are showing now that they're flexible and willing to adapt to the dynamic labour market".
