A second bid is to be put together to receive funding for Goole's historic buildings

It’s hoped a bid for funding to restore Goole’s historic buildings may yet be successful.

One and a half million pounds is being sought from the Heritage Lottery Fund to rejuvenate parts of Aire Street.

Despite being rejected in May, it’ll be resubmitted next month.

Goole Renaissance Manager Helen Hoult believes the area’s of significant value saying, "It's the original high street of the town, which is where Goole began.

Many people don't realise that's where the first rail station was based."
