Market Weighton Christmas Lights

Market Weighton's Christmas Lights switch on is happening on the evening of Thursday 7th December.

There will be charity stalls, a face painter and glitter tattoos on offer too. The tree will be lit up at 6pm with the Fire Brigade pressing the button this year as they're celebrating 50 years since the opening of their fire station.

Then watch out for Santa coming down the street on his sleigh. He'll be heading to the Church where you can go and visit him in his grotto.

Plus, watch out on the High Street as you'll be able to see a full scale tractor made out of Christmas lights - 6000 of them to be precise! Add into that more than a mile or wiring and 4000 cable ties to keep it all together! Andrew Wilkinson, who farms near Pocklington has made the spectacular piece - using up many evenings and weekends in the process.
