It's a sad reality that many elderly people spend a lot of time at Christmas on their own - almost totally isolated barring visits from professional carers. It's a difficult time if you haven't got family around you, so we wanted to do something to help.
We're putting on a Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Lodge, Sutton Park Golf Course in Hull on Tuesday 18th December. With the help of Hull City Council, we've identified 30 of the elderly who are facing a lonely Christmas and invited them along. We'll make sure they have a fantastic time with lots of singing, carols, presents, entertainment, a lovely festive afternoon tea and most importantly - chatter.
Thanks to Kitchen Hygiene Cleaning Services in Hull for making all of this possible.
We'd like to say a big thank you to everybody who has donated gifts, including Boyes, Hornsea & Gilberdyke Garden Centres, Creme D'or, Coletta & Tyson, Humber Wolds & Rural Action, Withernsea Knit & Natter, Denny's Catering, Arnold's Autos and Storetec.
Take a look at the pictures taken from last years Christmas Afternoon Tea. We're looking forward to making more great memories!
