Christmas Afternoon Tea

It’s a sad reality that many elderly people spend a lot of time of Christmas on their own – almost totally isolated barring visits from professional carers.

It’s a difficult time if you haven’t got family around you, so we wanted to do something to help.

We’re putting on a Christmas Afternoon Tea at Armstrong's in Beverley. With the help of Beverley Community Lift, we’ve identified 30 of the elderly who are facing a lonely Christmas, and invited them along.

We’ll make sure they have a fantastic time – lots of singing, carols, presents, entertainment, a lovely festive afternoon tea and most importantly – chatter.

There are ways you can help too – we’re looking for more gifts for our guests and others who aren’t mobile enough to make the party.

Anything edible goes down really well. So biscuits, Christmas pudding, chocolates, tea bags or coffee.

Alternatively if you wanted to get something to keep them warm over winter, scarves or gloves are great. Please make sure you get uni-sex colours and fit as we have a mix of male and female guests.

You can deliver gifts to KCFM during office hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm) at Parkgate House, Hesslewood Office Park, Ferriby Road, Hessle, HU13 0QF. If you need directions, please call 01482 333999.

Thanks to Kitchen Hygiene Cleaning Services in Hull for helping make this possible.
